Sunrise here, on this day, was at 6:58am.
I woke up later than usual, but still before dawn.
I opened the curtains a little and looked outside. I could see that there was snow on the asphalt, illuminated by the street lamps.
I fill a bath as usual and take a morning bath.
After spending an hour in the bath, it was still over an hour before breakfast time.
I put on as much as I could and went outside.
The sky has finally lightened up and I don't look suspicious when I walk around with my camera.
But it is quiet on a snowy morning. It doesn't seem like a town where people live.
I stared breathlessly as the eastern sky turned red. Even though it is the same twilight, compared to dusk, I feel a kind of hope, perhaps because it is dawn.
Long wavelengths of red have come through the bottom of the thick atmosphere.
I admired the red colour as I walked through the snow and twilight.
I didn't see anyone, but I heard sirens and the sound of a gong being struck in the distance. There must have been a fire in the morning, but I could not see any smoke from my high vantage point, nor could I discern the direction from which the fire trucks were driving.
It was such a quiet snowy morning that even if I heard the sound of an emergency vehicle, it seemed a world far away.
