Nevertheless, I had several opportunities to go out in October.
On 2 January, more than ten years ago, my wife asked me to take my daughter to the first sale in an electronics shop.
It was a snowy day and my wife had a slight fever.
She wanted me to buy her a compact digital camera that was on the sales brochure.
She said, 'I'll give you the old one.
She gave me a small camera in a red case.
My wife had only used the compact camera she got in the first sale for about two years. That was because she had replaced her Galapagos mobile phone with an iPhone.
She had lost the charger for the camera, so for a long time after that, the camera slept in a bag shaped like a green frog.
I thought it would be absurd to buy a charger for an old compact camera that was more than ten years old. ......
I bought a new charger and started putting it in my pocket to go out.
It's not easy to use, but that's probably because I'm not used to using it. It's a small camera, so it's easier to carry than a Micro Four Thirds mirrorless SLR.
With that in mind, I made slides from the pictures I took when I was out and about in October.
As I go out less, I have less opportunity to drink outside, and I don't want to drink as much.
I'm going to be a hermit again for a while.
Next month is the first anniversary of my wife's death.
見知らぬ人の視線すら苦に感じるため、すっかり家の中に引きこもる毎日だが。……
それでも１０月は、外に出る機会が何度かあった。
１０年以上前の１月２日、妻に頼まれて、家電量販店の初売りに、娘と共に出かけた。
雪の日で、妻は少しばかり熱が出ていた。
初売りのチラシに出ていたコンパクトデジタルカメラを買ってきて欲しいという。
「古いものはあなたにあげるから」
赤いケースに入った小さなカメラを貰った。
初売りで手に入れたコンパクトカメラは、２年ほど妻は使っただけだった。ガラパゴス携帯をiPhoneに機種変更したからだった。
カメラのバッテリー充電器を失くしてしまったため、その後ずっと、カメラは緑のカエルの形のポーチの中で眠っていた。
１０年以上も前の古いコンパクトカメラのために今更充電器を購入するのも莫迦らしいと思ったのだが。……
新しい充電器を購入し、ポケットに入れて出るようになった。
使い勝手は良くないのだが、それは多分、使い方に慣れていないからだろう。小さなカメラだから、マイクロフォーサーズのミラーレス一眼を持ち歩くよりは簡便だ。
そう考えて１０月の外出時に撮ったものからスライドを作った。
出歩くことが減ると、外で飲む機会も減ってしまい、また然程飲みたいとも思わなくなった。
暫くまた引きこもりの日々が続く。
来月は、妻の一周忌。
