Green in May

(続き)

A rare opportunity to see historical buildings.
I went and found that I had achieved my goal, but what I admired even more was the beauty of the greenery on campus.
Perhaps it was a reaction to the fact that I had spent my days shut away and didn't want to see anyone, but the greenery was even more beautiful.
Only by studying in such an environment would one be able to deepen one's contemplation. The increasing number of university buildings, like corporate headquarters, may be due to efficiency and rational thinking, but even if purity and unity are created, I felt that complex depth and play that produces new creations cannot be created from inorganic materials.
However, such a university surrounded by greenery should have been typical of the past. Even the intellect nurtured there could not avoid the path to stupid nationalism and war. No matter what place you learn from, there may be some kind of chronic disease lurking in the human body that will lead you down the path to destruction.
While intoxicated by the green, I was also haunted by dark visions.
