This is a summary and conclusion of this summer, or a kind of preview of the slide show I plan to create in the future.
The images are all from an old, small compact digital camera. It fits in my pocket and doesn't take up much space, so I use it as a backup when the battery of my main Micro Four Thirds camera runs out. So, when I look back at them later, there's a lack of connection between the images, but that also creates an unintended sense of space.
Despite the record-breaking heat, the light in the images doesn't feel hot. Maybe it's because the shadows are the main focus rather than the light?
After receiving the senior citizen discount pass with the Kotobuki logo, I started taking the train via Tanigami to Sannomiya. At the transfer platform on the way there, the train is always waiting with empty seats, but it takes a while to depart. By the time it finally departs, even on weekdays, it’s packed, and many people are pulling large suitcases. At Shin-Kobe Station, such passengers increase even more. The connection for the return train isn't great either, but since the fare is a bit cheaper, I can't really complain.
All I can do is enjoy the time waiting for the train while gazing blankly at the scenery.
これは今年の夏のまとめ・締め括りのようなもの、或いは、これから新しく作っていくはずのスライド作品の一種の予告編。
画像は古い小さなコンパクトデジタルカメラのものばかり。ポケットに入れていても、それほど持て余すことはなく、主に使っているマイクロフォーサーズカメラのバッテリー切れの際には、ピンチヒッター的な役回りをする。だから、後で見返してみると、画像と画像の繋がりに欠けてしまうのだが、それはそれで、意図せぬ余白を醸し出したりもする。
とんでもない暑さの記録のはずなのに、画像の中の光には熱を感じない。光よりも、影が主体になっているからだろうか？
寿のロゴがついた敬老優待乗車証を受け取ってから、谷上経由で三宮に出るようになった。行きの乗り換えホームには、いつでも電車が待っていて座席は空っぽだが、なかなか発車してくれない。漸く発車するころになると、平日でも一杯になるし、大きなキャリーケースを引っ張っている人も多い。そんな乗客が新神戸駅では、さらに増える。帰りの電車の繋がりも良いとは言えないのだが、いくらか運賃が安くなっているのだから文句は言えないのだ。
ぼんやりと風景を眺めながら、電車を待っている時間を愉しむしかない。
