Afternoon town walk

(続き)

It is a thriving tourist town, but after a certain time, people disappear. That is what I was taught.
True enough, as dusk approaches, the shops that cater to daytime customers are closed and the bars are not yet open.
Wherever you go, the hustle and bustle of the pre-noon hours seems to be a lie.
The arcades stretching long from east to west are also less crowded. And the narrow streets that separate north and south from the arcade are dark and empty.
It was convenient for me, as I wanted to see as few people as possible.
After walking here and there, going up and down steep hills, I visited a bar recommended by the inn, which was still not open after 17:00. I went to another shot bar and drank a highball, thinking the first bar was not closed, as there was a light on in the bar. The second shot bar is attached to a convenience store and has a unique system whereby customers bring in their own snacks from the convenience store. However, after one highball, I returned to the bar recommended by the inn.
This time it was open, but there were already three customers in the small bar.
I sat at the counter just inside the entrance.
It was before the end of the rainy season, but I ordered an assortment of oden. There were several stylish ingredients. They were all delicious.
I have never failed to go to a restaurant recommended by someone who lives in the town.
