After seeing the exhibition entitled NOSTALGIA 《No Return Landscape》, I walked around the city with a friend for the first time in a long time.
There are no longer any bookshops selling new books left in the town where we used to walk together in junior high and high school.
However, when I walked with him, who liked to visit second-hand bookshops, he told me about small shops here and there.
He went to university in Kyoto and lived there after graduation. In the meantime, I had somehow stopped visiting second-hand bookshops. The books I read had also somehow become different.
Walking together for the first time in a long time, our interests are noticeably different, but we don't feel distant from each other.
While he was looking at the bookshelves minutely, I was looking at the covers of old American magazines. A film actress, I don't know who she was, was beautiful.
Walked through the valley of buildings into the western sun, looking at the old buildings.
We drank lightly.
Satisfied with good drinks, nibbles and good-natured chat, we parted westwards and eastwards.
